The Labour Party at Westminster stepped up its attack on excessive pay and bonuses to Bank staff this afternoon. They're trying to push through a motion which will restrict bonuses in banks, such as RBS, to reflect only " genuinely exceptional performance''. It follows the controversy over RBS boss Stephen Hester's decision to decline his bonus and the removal of Fred Goodwin's knighthood. In other news; Campaigners who believe the Lockerbie Bomber is innocent claim a proposed law designed to release new documents on the case could do little to shed light on the full circumstances of Abdelbaset Al Megrahi's conviction. At the Justice Committee today MSPs were told the legal establishment had an 'orchestrated desire' to keep matters secret. And in sport; Dan Parks has quit international rugby - just one game into Scotland's Six Nations campaign. This is an international version of the news that may have been edited for rights reasons.
